EV Charger Installation

Charge faster. Charge safer.

Level 2 EV charger installation across Greater Boston. We install every major brand — Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex, JuiceBox, Wallbox, Emporia, Grizzl-E — on a dedicated circuit with the right breaker, conduit, and permit.

The service

A proper EV charger install — the right way

A Level 2 charger is not a plug-and-play job. Your charger pulls 32–48 amps for hours at a stretch, almost always from a garage or exterior wall that's 30+ feet from your panel. Done wrong, that means tripping breakers, hot wires, or worst case a fire. Done right, it's invisible — you plug in and forget about it.

Every MazElectric EV install includes:

  • Load calculation — we check your panel can handle the charger, or recommend an upgrade / load management if not
  • Dedicated 240V circuit — sized for your specific charger (40A, 50A, 60A breaker)
  • Clean conduit run — fished through walls where possible, EMT outside, proper clips and anchors
  • GFCI protection and proper grounding
  • Permit pulled with your city/town and signed off by the inspector
  • Mounting and commissioning — we pair it to your WiFi and walk you through the app

Chargers we install

We install every major Level 2 charger on the market. Most common around Boston:

  • Tesla Wall Connector (Gen 3 & Universal Wall Connector) — the cleanest option for Teslas and most other EVs
  • ChargePoint Home Flex — great app, works everywhere
  • JuiceBox 40 / 48 — widely supported, good utility rebate partner
  • Wallbox Pulsar Plus — small form factor, smart charging
  • Emporia EV Charger — budget-friendly and quality has improved a lot
  • Grizzl-E — built like a tank, great for unheated garages in New England winters

Don't own a charger yet? We'll recommend one based on your car, panel capacity, and how far you drive.

What it costs

Most residential Level 2 charger installs in Greater Boston range from a simple run to a few thousand dollars depending on distance from the panel, wall construction, outdoor vs. indoor, conduit routing, and whether a panel upgrade or load-management device is needed. We quote every job individually in writing. Free estimates.

Massachusetts rebates

Mass Save and several utilities offer rebates for EV chargers and sometimes for the wiring work. We can point you at the current programs when we estimate. (We don't administer the rebate — you apply directly through the program — but we'll make sure your install qualifies.)

FAQ

EV charger questions.

Do I need a 200A panel for a Level 2 charger?
Not always. A 100A service can often support a 40A charger depending on your existing loads — we run a load calculation to confirm. If your panel won't support it, we can either recommend a panel upgrade, or install a smart load-management device that shares capacity between your charger and the house.
How long does the install take?
Most straightforward garage installs are 3–5 hours. Longer cable runs, outdoor installs, or panel upgrades add time. We'll tell you exactly what to expect in the estimate.
Do you install on shared driveways or condo parking?
Yes, but these require HOA/board approval and often sub-metering for billing. We've done condo EV installs in Boston and can walk you through what your board will want to see.
Can you install outdoor on a driveway?
Absolutely — we install on exterior walls, on a post mount near the driveway, or in carports. All outdoor installs use proper NEMA-rated equipment and weatherproof conduit.
Which charger should I buy?
If you drive a Tesla exclusively, the Tesla Wall Connector is the cleanest option. If you have a non-Tesla or mixed household, ChargePoint Home Flex and Wallbox Pulsar Plus are the most popular. Call us and we'll help you pick — we don't make money on the charger itself.
